This evening at around 5:00pm I went to KB mudflats. The tide was very high with only small stretch of tidal bar left dry. I counted a total of 268 individual birds. This included Sandplovers, Sandpipers, Sanderlings, and Egrets.
Commonly seen in this area are Greater Sandplover, Lesser Sandplover, Common Sandpiper, Terek Sandpiper, Sanderling, Kentish Plover and Malaysian Plover. Chinese Egret has also been sighted feeding here in the past.
We'll be back for a more definitive count in the coming weekends.
